Enhancing Telemetry and Navigation Performance with Full Spectrum Arraying

چکیده
Abstrac~At the start of the new millennium, a new array capability will be introduced into the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). This is a second generation system employing the full spectrum combining technique first deployed to support the Galileo mission in 1996. The new array capability offers multi-mission support with real-time combining at higher data rates. In addition, for the first time in the DSN hstory, it is now possible to array ranging signals to enhance navigation performance.

Eigen Theory for Optimal Signal Combining: A Unified Approach
In the past few years, there has been much interest at JPL in the investigation and development of efficient signal arraying techniques. As JPL missions begin to adopt Ka-band (32-GHz) for downlink communications, and the mechanical control and structural integrity of large antennas approach their limits, using advanced signal processing to array smaller antennas becomes a cost effective and fl...

Wave-induced motion and load responses are important criteria for ship performance evaluation. Physical experiments have long been an indispensable tool in the predictions of ship's navigation state, speed, motions, accelerations, sectional loads and wave impact pressure. Currently, majority of the experiments are conducted in laboratory tank environment, where the wave environments are differe...

In this paper, we present the results of a hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS/WLFP sensor fusion to be used in navigation system devices. Due to low quality of the inertial sensors, even a short-term GPS failure can lower the integrated navigation performance significantly. In addition, in GPS denied environments, most navigation systems need a separate assisting resource, in order to increase the avail...
